The automotive sector is on the rise again

The sector has suffered greatly from the economic crisis and is beginning to recover. The registration market has grown in recent quarters and even car employment is recovering.

2 million new cars last year

In 2016, more than 2 million new cars were sold, and the positive trend continued in 2017. As a result, the automotive sector is doing well and good news for car manufacturers: French brands are in high demand! Indeed, in this survey on the French people's favourite cars, Renault, Citroën and Peugeot are in the lead! Because in France, nearly one car in two is made in France (49% of vehicles exactly). On the 2nd step of the podium, not surprisingly, we find our European partners number one: German cars (such as BMW, Mercedes...).

The job is becoming more colourful all over France

As a result, employment in the automotive sector is on the rise again and manufacturers are hiring in France: engineers, technicians, designers, advertisers... in short, many jobs are concerned, in all regions. The part of relocations that has long tainted the French industry in this branch seems to be over, even if some subcontractors are still in difficulty.

The insurance too!

Another professional who is doing well: insurance, of course! When sales increase on the registration side, companies sell more contracts. As a reminder, insurance is compulsory for all drivers, at least the basic coverages. Afterwards, be aware that there are different contracts covering flights, glass breakage, accidents... and that prices vary according to your age of course and your place of residence. The market remains competitive and the best way to decide is to ask for several quotes to evaluate the offers and rates available to you and your family if there are several drivers.
